Carolina D Comes Up Big, Scratch the Niners in SF for Fifth Straight Win

At home, on the road, whether the sun is shining or a storm is brewing; Cam Newton and his Panthers have become the team to beat as Sunday in San Fran was no different.

A low scoring game could only mean one thing… DEFENSE. The Panthers held the notoriously powerful 49er offense to just 9 points and their leading man, quarterback Colin Kaepernick, to just 91 passing yards and one interception, as he finished 11 for 22 on the day.

Despite his off offensive day and being sacked 6 times by the dominant Carolina defense, Panthers quarterback, Cam Newton, didn’t exactly have a stat book pretty performance either- in fact his day nearly mirrored that of Kaepernick’s.

Newton 169 passing yards, going 16 for 32 with one interception, in addition to being sacked 4 times by the home team; however it was his squad that walked away with the win.

Both teams move to 6-3 as San Fran will be at New Orleans next Sunday and the Panthers look ahead to face off against the New England Patriots at home next week for Monday Night Football.
