Good Afternoon Sporties!
The Dodgers and Cards are back at it again this afternoon in St.Louis after LA fell behind in the late innings of game 1 last night. Although the boys in blue made the record books for putting up the longest game in Dodger postseason history, they couldn’t with stand the tremendous play of Cardinals right fielder, Carlos Beltran, who led the team both offensively and defensively.
Beltran alone hit an electrifying stand up double in the third to bring in two runs to match that of Uribe’s two RBI’s just a half inning earlier, threw a bullet to home in the 10th to save the Dodgers possible game winning run by Mark Ellis, and to put the cherry on top of it all, hit a walk off homer in the bottom of the 13th inning to finally call it a night.
It is now the 4th inning and St. Louis and the Cards are on top 1-0 as the Dodgers are without their star and big bat shortstop, Hanley Ramirez, due to a rib injury in last night’s game 1.
Stay tuned for more, this is Point Blank Sports!
