It’s the fate no athlete wishes to be destined and the nightmare that again came true for Chicago Bulls superstar point guard, Derrick Rose, after just recently recovering from a torn ACL suffered in April of 2012. A third quarter quick change of direction from the offensive to defensive side of the court did just that for the Bulls franchise; as the team, Chicago fans, and the entire NBA family’s gasps could be heard any and everywhere across the country.
A trip to Los Angeles Saturday revealed the heartbreaking MRI results of a medial meniscus tear in his right knee, leaving Rose with but scrubs for yet another surgery and an indefinite ticket to the sidelines. Due to these new circumstances, he will not be joining his fellow teammates on the last two of their six game road trip; including their game Sunday against the Los Angeles Clippers.
Although this second time around on the injury roller coaster is seen as “not as bad,” just a few weeks back Chicago was on the road to the June, as Rose was seen interviewed stating he felt better than ever and this would be their year to beat all odds and obstacles to win it all.
With a blow as such to the Bulls, can they overcome the steam that is the doubt of the media and all, to have a commanding rest of the season defeating league powerhouses such as the Heat, Spurs, and Thunder despite the pedals of the D-Rose missing?
We shall see.
