Hoping to follow suit in such a fashion as the Dodgers just the day before in their Game 5, the Detroit Tigers fell to the Boston Red Sox 4-3 at home in a thrilling game that came down to fine tune pitching and the fundamentals of defense.
“There’s probably a reason I don’t have any hair,” Red Sox second baseman Dustin Pedroia said. “It’s stressful.”
Tigers errors turned Red Sox golden opportunities, including Mike Napoli’s key run in the third on a wild pitch; as they look to shake their nerves and redeem themselves at Fenway Park Saturday to force a Game 7.
Statistically, 69% of the teams who have won Game 5 have gone on to win the series, however the Tigers look to prove that stat and it’s history 100% wrong.
Stay tuned for more on the ALCS Saturday…this is Point Blank Sports!
