After seven long penalty and interception filled weeks, the Giants have finally put the cherry on top of their losing streak; picking up their first win of the season 23-7 at home Monday night over the similarly struggling Minnesota Vikings.
Feeling the pressure on the road, quarterback Josh Freeman made his debut for the Vikings after being cut by Tampa Bay, however due to a lack of knowledge of the offense his performance was less than impressive. Freeman set the record for most overthrown pass attempts since the 2006 season, throwing 16 and was also sacked by the New York defensive line twice.
“A lot of the plays were just a hair off,” Freeman said.
Despite the Giants win, it looks like its back to the drawing board for both teams, as they get ready to face to prominent competitors next week.
