Looking for the silver lining, the Vikings put an end to their struggle streak as they seemed to finally be in sink, both on the offensive and defensive side of the ball, with a 34-27 win over the visiting Redskins- shutting down RGII- Thursday night in Minnesota.

Before leaving the game late in the third quarter with a shoulder injury, Minnesota quarterback Christian Ponder, showed his leadership – throwing for 174 yards and 2 TDs, going 17 of 21 on the night. In addition to the offensive push by Ponder, Pro Bowl running back Adrian Peterson, led his team to victory via his own path. Peterson’s 75 rushing yards and 2 TDs Thursday leaped him to fifth on the “Most Rushing Yards in the First 7 NFL Seasons” list, ahead of Walter Payton, now at 9,635 yards and counting.

Robert Griffin III, despite being sacked 4 times, recorded a stat pretty night, throwing for 281 yards and 3 TDs- going 24 of 37 on the night.

“It felt like we were in control, and when you walk off the field with a loss, it’s very disheartening,” Griffin said, “but I don’t think anyone on this team is going to quit.”

No time for a water break, both teams look ahead to Week 11 road games, as the Redskins will face the offensive force that are the Philadelphia Eagles and the Vikings will go head to head against Russell Wilson and the red hot Seattle Seahawks.
