Behind Jordan Hill’s career night of 24 points, 17 rebounds, and a single assist- the Lakers found themselves on the winning side of their matchup against Josh Smith and the visiting “Motor City” Detroit Pistons with a 114-99 victory; of course sending attending Laker fans home with free tacos as well.
With no Kobe and now no Nash, the Lakers have continuously been challenged to dig deep, put aside the doubt of social media, and come together as a team to find out and show what they are really made of. Formally known for having one of the best benches in the league after winning back-to-back championships in 09-10, the Lakers are slowly but surely regaining that title as Nick Young came in again scoring double digits, finishing with 19 along with starting guard Jodie Meeks.
“We don’t have Steve Nash. We don’t have Kobe. We’ve got guys that we know have to step up. We’re banding together as a team,” Jordan Hill had to say post game.
Lakers point guard, Steve Blake, had a near career high tying night as he dished out 16 assists, just two away from his record in addition to his 9 points as well.
Happy to get some rest, the men in purple and gold have the next 4 days off before meeting Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors at home Friday night for the second time this season, in hopes to come out on top after a poor performance in their first matchup.
Stay tuned for more, this is Point Blank Sports!
